Dr. Hengst grew up in Houston just a few miles from Enclave Vision Associates! A lifelong resident of Houston, she's excited to provide top notch eye care and excellent service to her fellow Houstonians. Dr. Hengst attended Baylor University, earning a Bachelor of Music degree, after graduating from Stratford High School. She went on to complete her Doctorate of Optometry at the University of Houston, where she graduated in 2011 and was a member of Beta Kappa Sigma honor society. Dr. Hengst is licensed to practice optometry in the state of Texas and is an Therapeutic Optometrist and Optometric Glaucoma Specialist.
Dr. Hengst thinks the best thing about optometry is that no two days are the same. Whether she is seeing a patient for a routine vision check, an eye infection, managing a patient's glaucoma, or discussing the next steps in myopia management or dry eye disease, Dr. Hengst likes to present a plan of action and enjoys educating her patients on the reasoning and research behind her clinical decisions.
Dr. Hengst is married with 4 children, is an active member of St. John Vianney Catholic Church, sits on the Board of Directors at St. John Paul II Catholic School, and occasionally you may catch her playing viola in the Energy Corridor of Houston Orchestra (ECHO)!
